What does being “beautiful” really mean?
Last night’s Miss Universe pageant (Congratulations to Miss USA) had me thinking about the definition of beauty. In the ideal world, inner beauty is more important than outer beauty but also in the ideal world, Christian Grey is real. Today, we are going to take a little walk in the real world. I’m a huge believer in natural beauty but I also believe that if you don’t like something about yourself then get to work and change it. At this time, I would like to say that I’m confident that every woman is beautiful. I’m going to keep it plain and simple; Women who do not consider themselves “beautiful” are just lazy women. It all comes down to how comfortable you are with what ya mama gave you.
One of the things I love most about being a woman is that I have a lot of help when it comes to beauty. The trick is in the makeup. (This is when the “lazy woman” comes in). If you think that you are not beautiful then you my darling have not found out the power of makeup. With the right make up and knowing how to use it, you can make your eyes look bigger, smaller. You can even give yourself check bones; you can make your lips bigger or smaller. This is when my “lazy woman” theory comes in. Beauty takes time, I know some women who dedicate about an hour to putting on make-up and that floats their boats. This is how I see it, it depends on how beautiful you feel, if you feel beautiful with no makeup then you go girl. If you feel beautiful with make up on then I bet you love trips to Sephora. I’m personally not a huge fan of too much make up but if it gives you the confidence to start with your day then remember to put your best foot forward.

I know there is something that we all wish we could change. Somethings we can change but somethings we can’t. I’m a short girl, I can’t wake up four inches taller but I can give you a tour of my shoe collection looking four inches taller. I can’t change that but I can change somethings as well. I hate my eyebrows. You do not have to look closely to notice that I have really thin eye brows, I hate them. Nevertheless I figured that instead of hating them every day, I could do something about it. So I went to YouTube beauty school (as I would like to call it) and watched videos of making eye brows look better. Turns out, if you want to learn how to do anything, there is a YouTube video for that. And now, I don’t hate my eye brows as much. I added about five minutes to my routine and dedicated them to my eyebrows. My favorite trick (and also a less time consuming one) is brushing them with a mascara wand.
My point is, having the right make up and knowing how to use it is like having a fairy godmother. That is why I try my best to look at people through their inner beauty because there is no makeup that can fix that. But I will tell you one thing, if accompanied by inner beauty; confidence is the most important accessory that a woman should have. You have control over your beauty. Don’t let them tell you that you are not beautiful and if they do, just turn around so that they can kiss your beautiful ass.
Beauty cannot be put in one definition but if you got it, then you got it. I would love to hear some to your beauty secrets.
