My Runway goes to Africa
Fashion is not the only thing I am passionate about. I am passionate about helping people, volunteering and all the things that fall under. I am going on a service learning trip to Uganda (sponsored by Lasell College’s shoulder to shoulder program) with a group of amazing people that I am excited to share these memories with. We will teach 7th graders for a few weeks. I think that giving back and helping people is more important than having THE shoes or owning every current trend. Don’t get me wrong, I love the smell of new shoes but I think I love the feeling of stepping out of my comfort zone and in this case, going to Africa to teach. For me, it is personal because Uganda is my original home. I am a product of Uganda.
That is why for the next three weeks, my runway will be a little quiet. However, you can keep up with my friends and I on this journey on this blog. For now, I leave you in the hands of David Beckham.
Okay, maybe THIS Beckham. I think this is enough Beckhams to keep the spotlight on my runway shining. I have a flight to catch. I know this is going to be a life changing trip and I am excited to teach the students. Not that I ever forgot where I came from but I think that this trip will be a nice reminder and hopefully, I get a chance to see what is trending in Uganda. Laters babies. Hello Africa
