Fashion News: Elite Model Management founder John Casablancas dies at age 70.

With the wait of the royal baby (I want a girl), you would think that there is nothing else going on in this world.  On Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, John Casablancas died after a long battle with cancer. Casablancas is someone you have to know if you want to be in the modeling industry. He changed the face of modeling and is responsible for launching the careers of many super models from Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford to Heidi Klum and Gisele. These women are probably the biggest supermodels of our generation; you can see why he was kind of a big deal.

He launched Elite Model Management in Paris 1972 and then opened a New York office in 1977. According to Vogue, this proved him as serious competition for the Ford agency. R.I.P John Casablancas and Cory Monteith. We could use some good news in the media for a change.
