Fashion News. Louis Vuitton replaces Marc. This story is a great conversation starter.
Bonjour, Louis Vuitton has replaced Marc Jacobs with Nicolas Ghesquiere. The French designer put Balenciaga on the list of the hottest shows in Paris fashion. The 42 year old designer will show his first collection for the brand next march. This is one of those tings where you just cannot say whether he is a good or bad pick until after he comletes his first project for the brand but if he knows the shoes he is replacing then he best go to work. But all jokes aside, he is as handsome and as talented as Marc . According to WWD, Ghesquiere left Balenciaga last November because he had conflicts with the management about the future direction of the company. Hopefully Vuitton gives him more space in his fashion playground. I also think that Louis Vuitton is all about changes and progress because in fashion, you will be out before you know it.
I think this is a good decision because he is a young talent and seems hungry. That is exactly what Vuitton needs. He started his career by working with designers Jean Paul Gaultier and Thierry Mugler . That was when he signed on at Balenciaga as a freelancer to design uniforms and wedding dresses foe the Japanese market. He was in the right hands. After starting his career working for designers including and Thierry Mugler, Ghesquière signed on at Balenciaga as a freelancer to design uniforms and wedding dresses for the Japanese market. In 1997, he was promoted to creative director of Balenciaga, he transformed the company into one of the most influential French brands and hopefully he gets to do more with Louis Vuitton. Here is some of his work with Balenciaga.
