Jennifer Lawrence is making life easier, American Eagle’s Aerie is the latest on the natural beauty bandwagon.
As I was watching the Grammys red carpet waiting to see who is wearing what and how, I realized that I was so not impressed with yesterday’s red carpet. It was your usual, here comes Beyonce in a dress similar like the one she wore two years ago (But she did kill he performance) anyways, Jennifer Lawrence is making my “red carpet” life easier for probably the next three years. The bubbly actress is in talks with Dior to extend their partnership, guess for how much? It will be between $15-$20 million, although the deal is not in place yet, sources say that JLaw is open to the idea of continuing to work with Dior. If you ask me, I find it a little bit boring that she has been wearing Dior to EVERY single major red carpet. There is nothing that bores me like the same old song but if I was being offered a check of $15-$20 million just to wear something and show up to a place then forget the fashion critics, I’m going with the money. The next time you see Lawrence on the red carpet, she is wearing Dior. Hopefully they don’t do to her what they did to her at the Golden Globes.
Natural beauty is trending with the help of American Eagle’s Aerie ads for Spring 2014. The campaign lensed by John Urbano featured untouched models in lingerie. You can see stretch marks, scars and all the things you would never see in an ad. The ad reads, “The real you is sexy #aerieReal. I’m all for this natural beauty trend going on. Aerie’s chief merchandising officer Jennifer Foyle said that the point of this campaign is to show women they’re naturally gorgeous. “The purpose of aerie Real is to communicate there is no need to retouch beauty, and to give young women of all shapes and sizes the chance to discover amazing styles that work best for them. We want to help empower young women to be confident in themselves and their bodies.” She said. I am all for natural beauty unless it involves running into my crush first thing in the morning with my head wrap on. That sounds like a moment I wouldn’t wish on my least liked person. Pretty hurts.
