Show Review Winter 2016: Elie Saab’s couture fairytale
On my runway, we are dealing with the summer heat by keeping up with the Autumn/ Winter 2016 collections. This is not up to debate: Elie Saab is tremendously good at what he does. I have never seen a single flaw in his collections and he did not disappoint in his Autumn/ Winter 2016 collection. He always finds a way to always make me fall in love and I love how he tells a story through his collections and the girl he speaks for. He gives us a chance to create our fantasy closets: after all a girl can dream and there is nothing wrong with that.
He put flower garlands in the models’ hair. He had empire lines and full skirts, flowing sleeves, splaying skirts and gowns of every classic Elie lifestyle. His use of color makes me feel things. Close to the climax of the show, he brought out a series of black dresses and the cut into rock’n’ roll. So basically Cinderella was a bad bitch in her happily ever after.
