NYFW SS16: Givenchy's romantic runway
Fashion month is like the holidays on my runway. We are starting off with the Givenchy show which was very sensational. The show was too good, it’s too good, it’s too good, mmm my God it’s too good. It had an amazingly controlled balance of masculine and feminine. The show happened yesterday on September 11; which was a day that Riccardo Tisci wanted to acknowledge because he moved his traditionally Paris-shown collection to New York this season and we are more than glad that he did.
The artistic director of the show was Tisci’s friend Marina Abramovic who created a set that recycled materials and debris. The show also included performance pieces and music from six different cultures and religions. This show was truly about inclusion. According to Vogue, it was moving and heartfelt. Via Vogue
When I saw Joan Smalls in this number, I died, revived myself and then did again. Givenchy for the win!!!
