Hurry, its almost Christmas!

It's that time of year again. Break out the footie pajamas and eggnog, its Christmas. Granted, this Christmas isn't our quintessential New England Christmas with gleaming white snow and twinkling lights covering the trees. It is grey and warm (for New England) but hey, when has that ever stopped us?

I don't know about you all but I struggle with Christmas gifts. Working with a college-sized budget can be tricky. I usually opt for thoughtful, handmade gifts using things I already have at home. Baking goodies is always a go to for me, but it isn't for everybody. But you know what is? Sugar scrubs. They are easy and luxurious, not to mention totally cute.

My sugar scrubs of choice are a brown sugar, vanilla, coconut and a refreshing lemon.

For the brown sugar, vanilla, coconut:

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil (melted or very softened)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix thoroughly and enjoy!

For the refreshing lemon:

2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/4 cup coconut oil (melted)
1 lemon (juice and zest)

Melt coconut oil and pour over sugar. Mix and add in juice and zest of one lemon. Mix to combine and enjoy! (This recipe even includes labels for the jars)

I hope you enjoy these quick and easy recipes, for all you last-minute Santas out there! Thanks for walking on the runways.
