Backstage Pass: Lost in New York City

"Wherever you go, there you are"

I took my Runway to NYC. Not just for Fashion Week but for a while. The move was done so lowkey that I didn't tell my Runway a thing. Here I am, the first day exploring with my wonderful friends who helped me with the move.

Three days later. I still love New york and I'm still in the honeymoon phase but I have noticed a few things about NYC that I find funny. I cannot wrap my head around the fact that the Subway runs 24/7. In Boston, if it is 12:45 AM and you are not on the train then that means that you better have the funds for the uber. Speaking of trains, I know that people (usually New Yorkers)  say that the Subway is very easy to get but I beg to differ and maybe it is because I am still new to the city. For some reason I always end up in Harlem even when I'm heading to Manhattan. I heard that Harlem has a lit nightlife so maybe I might as well get to know it better.
I also noticed that the NY blue-collar workers are very attractive. So I'm trying to go uptown in the Bronx but I end up on the downtown train going to Brooklyn. I know that the 4 or D gets me home. As I try to read the map, I see someone wearing a uniform so I ask for directions. I was too confused to even notice how attractive he was until he started giving me directions. At this point, I can't focus or listen and all of a sudden, it is hotter than the Sahara desert. I find people attractive but not many can change the temperature. Once he was done trying to help me find he 4 train, I realize that I have not been paying attention (for obvious) reasons and now I'm more confused about my whereabouts more than I was before. Now I'm upset that he confused me and at this point, the train is the last thing I want to ride (there is a dick joke somewhere)
Although the trains are giving me a hard time, I would rather be confused and horny in NYC than anywhere else at this point in my life. I know that the city is expensive blah blah but I am a hustler. I got what it takes in me. In no time, I will figure out the MTA. My graduate classes started today so busy is an understatement of how I will be.

I safelt found my way home last night. I am going to a rooftop fashion show thing tonight in midtown so I will let you know how that goes. I'm thinking of occasionally writing about my NYC adventures. Let me know if you are interested. I will start Fashion Week tomorrow but catch you Backstage because I will occasionally post.

Thank you for walking on my Runway. What are some of your favorite things about NYC?
